Can dreams actually predict the future?

Dream is so interesting place for me. Year ago I had a dream but I didn't care about it but now I see dreams from different perspective. Like I had a dream where was my school covered with metal walls. After that I realized that this was reference to fact that I'm scared of my new school or I don't feel well there. This thing is science verified fact you know what I mean. But when I say that dreams can predict the future is more like paranormal or imagination stuff that's not 100% legit. But I've got many experience about my dream that predict the future. Everytime it's not something big like "global epidemic is coming!" Or "You gonna fell from bridge tonight!" Most of time is just some detail. Just for context I've got brace in my mouth and there is small wire that accidentally fell out from it like half year ago and I still don't know if I ate it or not but my doctor said I'm fine. So today I had a dream where I was with my dad at hospital. We went to some shop in that hospital. My dad asked the shopper that he needs some more safe wire for my brace that can't fell off and I can't accidentally eat it. The shopper and my dad started talking about how it works and that it's more safe. Then the dream ended. Today I was brushing my teeth and that wire fell of and I just realized that I had dream about this. So this dream kinda saved me I guess? How I said before it's very small thing but the dream almost told me that this thing gonna fell off.

    Strange Family

Last night I dreamt I was a member of a family that I didn’t know. I don’t know who I was to them (Brother, Cousin, etc) but I knew I lived with them. There was an older guy in his 80s and a younger guy in his late 40s early 50s. The older guy had just lost his wife. She had been sleeping in the living room in a hospital type bed and had died recently so the older guy wanted to get the bed moved. I sat down to listen to the younger guy who was speaking to me and then it suddenly hit me. I knew I was dreaming. I looked intently at the younger man as he spoke and thought to myself “How on earth is my brain able to invent a complete stranger with such clarity?” He had short dark hair, quite wide slightly protruding eyes and a very square jaw. I can’t remember what clothes he was wearing. Eventually I got up from the table and started to look around the house. I didn’t recognise the house from my waking life and nothing was familiar in any of the rooms. There was a living room and a kitchen downstairs, a bedroom and a bathroom upstairs and then a small door that led to an attic. I opened the door and saw that the stairs were extremely narrow and the ceiling was very low. I knew someone was up there so I called out to them to come down. Nobody came down and then I was joined by the older man and the younger man. I explained to them that someone was up there but they didn’t believe me. Then the younger guy started to go up the stairs and at that moment, a person started coming down but tripped and fell. She came crashing down the stairs and landed in a heap at the bottom. I said to the two guys “I told you someone was up there!” and then obviously they believed me. The woman had long dark hair that was covering her eyes and I had no idea who she was but I figured she must have been related to the two guys because they didn’t make her leave. Nothing else happened after that.

    Recurring dream leaves me anxious

I have this re-occurring dream that my mom gave me a red car, nothing fancy... just a regular 4 door car. The issue is that I just know the above as a fact, it doesn’t actually happen. Let me set the scene, when I fall asleep I’m suddenly in this alternative world where it’s a bit dark and gloomy in areas. I’m talking to my friend and then suddenly I become stressed out and worried because I lost the red car that my mom gave me. Then I start frantically thinking about where the keys are and where the car is and how did I lose it and then for the rest of the dream I keep thinking about where the car is and how to find it. The issue is that I just don’t do anything about it. Then I wake up. So honestly I get that it most likely has to do with my mental health and losing my job (probably a lot more if you look at my history). I was wondering if anyone has ever dreamt of losing their newly gifted car, stressing about it, but not actually doing anything about finding it?

    So surreal...

I dreamt that I was in this building. It seemed to be a dorm of some kind. I went to the front double doors of the building to step outside. When I pushed the doors open I realized it was nighttime. In front and all around the building was just empty field and it was very foggy. I looked upwards and saw what I thought was a plane at first. Then I saw the planes wings move up and down and it coming towards the ground at an alarming speed. That’s when I saw it was a huge grey dragon. I looked to my left and saw another one. The dragons seemed to be fighting something on the ground so I tried focusing on the fog in the field. I began to see people with swords running around fighting the two big dragons and some smaller dragons. I ran back inside and went straight for a certain room. I went into the room without knocking. Inside I saw a woman sitting on the bed and a man at the desk. They were both young. I went directly to the woman and asked her if she would turn me into my healing form, which is apparently a giant grasshopper that can fly. At first the woman refused and insisted that they had it handled outside and didn’t want to put me into danger. I told her about the huge dragons I had seen outside and she finally complied. ———————— The dream skips forward a bit and I am now outside. I am a giant grasshopper. I take to the sky and fly low seeing who is hurt and needs to be healed from the dragons flying low and attacking people with their claws. They never breathed fire. I went around healing people that were fighting the dragon with a green stream of light that came from my giant grasshopper mouth. After I saw everyone near me was healed I flew higher into the sky to see if more people needed to be healed. As I was flying a dragon came by me and knocked me out of the sky. I hit the ground in my giant grasshopper form a couple times and bounced but when I finally landed on the ground I was back in my human form. I went back inside to the building and went straight to the woman’s room again. I told her what happened and asked her to heal me. She informed me that she could only heal me in my grasshopper form and then proceeded to do normal human first aid on me. Then I woke up.

    The same recurring dream

Every. Single. Dream. is based in this alternate world. It's a city, I think. The layout never changes, dream me knows where every shop is and it stays that way. I've seen the map a few times in dreams and it is consistent. It's not a place I know although there are a few places that are a variation of places I go in real life. Like my job for example. I just want help understanding why I am not capable of dreaming anything else? It is always related to and inside of this alternate world. I don't hate it and it is familiar so comforting I guess. Does anyone else experience this?

How often do you remember your dreams?

How often do you remember your dreams? And what does that say about you? Because I remember at least a part of my dream almost every night but I never wake up throughout the night. Curious to hear your answers!

Why can't I ever remember talking in my dreams?

Apparently most people remember conversations they have in their dreams, but I don't. I mean, I talk to people and remember the jist of what they say, but I cannot remember specific words or phrasing. I only remember what they are trying to convey with feelings. I can't find anything on Google about this, so I was hoping you good dreamers could help me make sense of this. Thanks!

I met my future kids and self

By far the strangest dream I’ve had. Did I see a glimpse of my future? Details below! •2021 me visited 2036• *Lived outside of Chicago or seemed to according to a license plate I saw *Masks were still a thing *Two kids, a son Kai (he looked like my fiancé) and a daughter named Sacred. All three of us cried and were so happy when we hugged. It felt as if I were home. *Someone said fiancé and I got married November 18th, 2021 *I finish my education and have been teaching kindergarten for awhile (according to my future self) *Lived in a busy neighborhood *Talked with what seemed to be family/close friends *Tried to bring back pictures and documents of my kids for when I woke up but they disappeared *Fiancé passed away from “silly” circumstances and family misses him. Seemed to be a recent death.

    Confusing dreams with reality

I can not for the life of me explain this to anyone in a good enough way that conveys the feeling but I’m going to try. On one hand I will remember something that happened but then I cant figure out if it was a dream. The memory feels very real but when I really try to think about I get a feeling I’m just remembering a vivid dream. On the other hand, I have recurring memories, experiences...parts of me, that I just can not figure out if its real. For example, I have leg/hip pain and sometimes when I walk it locks up and makes it really hard to walk. I have memories of being in parking lots trying not to embarrass myself because of my awkward waddle. I’m 100% sure this happens to me sometimes but my mom, my friends have said they have never seen me or heard me complain about it. So basically it feels like im having a recurring dream about this leg thing that is so vivid I can’t tell If it is actually something I struggle with or just something that happens in my dreams. If that makes no sense I understand haha. But if anybody could help me out that would be greatly appreciated, I have other odd experiences with dreams too.

    My pandemic dream

I recently moved home from London, before the pandemic. I dreamed I had gone on a trip back to visit and was riding the bus around the city and generally sightseeing. The pandemic was going on and I and everyone around me were wearing masks. As I moved about, I was very aware I was touching bus poles and could be contracting the virus yet I still didn’t stop. I knew I planned to return home to New York at the end of the trip and that my grandpa’s very sick and in an old folks’ home and we’re worried about him. I was anxious and freaking out about it while traveling around, yet I still continued going about and touching things, knowing I’d be going home and very likely bringing it back to my family.

    The secret

I grew up in a small town, but I dreamed of moving to NYC and working in fashion. My parents said my dream was impossible and too expensive. They believed I should never spend money and only save it. In addition, everyone I knew was overweight. My mother said that I wasn’t overweight and my height made me look chubby. She said I would always be that way. Then I read The Secret and my life changed!! I focused only on what I wanted. I was attending a small fashion college where I met a girl who was transferring to a college in NYC. I applied there and got in! I moved to NYC three days later and lived in the college dorms. Keep in mind that I did not know how all this was happening, but I believed it would. After one week in NYC I became good friends with a designer at one of the biggest fashion brands in the world. She got me a freelancing position in her department. I already had my dream job and I hadn’t even graduated yet! The apartment I had always visualized would cost millions, but I didn’t think about the price. Two months after moving to NYC I met a girl who became a very dear friend and she said she was looking for a third roommate. She owned a multi-million dollar apartment and I had no idea. I toured the apartment before moving in and it was exactly like the apartment I had been visualizing. I moved in and she charged me an affordable rate. I started to use a vision board with my perfect weight and perfect partner. When I looked at the photos I felt like I already had everything I wanted. I focused on my perfect weight the most. Everyone around me was healthy and thin and it truly inspired me to be my perfect weight. I started losing weight with a new healthy lifestyle. I didn’t own a full-length mirror like I did back at my parents, so I never saw my body. I only saw what I wanted! I felt like I was already thin! I lost 18 pounds in less than three months. I achieved my goal weight in an enjoyable way! I continued the same enjoyable lifestyle and I have remained my perfect weight. I used The Secret to attract my perfect partner and perfect apartment of my own. I completely let go of all the negativity from my childhood and I embraced The Secret. What you resist enslaves you, but what you embrace you become!

    My dream

Mods, not sure if this post belongs here since it mainly takes place when I'm asleep but it definitely feels like a glitch in reality but feel free to let me know if this doesn't belong here! So this has been happening to me for a really long time.. maybe since my early 20s is when I first noticed it but it may have been happening longer (I'm 26 now). Every time I dream, i always "travel" to the same handful of locations. The events are always different. There are recurring people / characters in these dreams but the events change. The location is always the same and each different one has specific landmarks and an overall vibe to it. I sometimes go lucid and I can still remember pretty vivid details about each different location but overall it's a little hazy. Even when I don't go lucid within the dream I usually recall some of it after I wake up. It's not like I'm visiting the mountains or a different country or anything either... it's like an entirely different planet or existence. For example one place that I "visit" a lot is a house on a cliff / island that sits right off of a coast or Bay Area. The whole place has a very dark almost lovecraftian vibe. It kind of feels like a cross between supernatural / spacey scary haunted house type thing. Sorry if this doesn't make sense it's kind of hard to explain but I remember paintings in the house, specific rooms, the lighting... It seriously feels like I'm traveling to these places as I sleep. Sometimes I play a role in the events happening in the dream and sometimes I'm just living a life. I've been working on getting better at lucid dreaming to see if I can actively explore this more but so far not a ton of luck. Anyone have similar experiences or have heard of anything like this? Personally I love the experience but have never shared this with anyone and thought maybe people on this sub would be interested!

    dreams like a carousel

Have you ever had a dream that was just a loop? You know, like having a youtube video that is stuck on replay. There are times when my dreams feel that way. Actually, many nights this month, my dreams were stuck in loops! What any of it mean? I am often reminded of a carousel, or a merry-go-around, like the one that my mom used to take me to every christmas. Heck, that felt like an eternity ago now. I have a theory. The carousel is our brain's way of dealing with unresolved feelings. We just can't pass go if we haven't rolled the dice! Or better yet, if we are waiting for someone else to roll the dice before our turn. Wow, did any of that make sense? Guess I'll find out in the morning.
